나의 사자가 네 앞서 가서 너를 아모리 사람과
My angel will go ahead of you and
bring you into the land of the Amorites,

헷 사람과 브리스 사람과 가나안 사람과
Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites,

 

히위 사람과 여부스 사람에게로 인도하고
Hivites and Jebusites,

나는 그들을 끊으리니
and I will wipe them out.

너는 그들의 신을 숭배하지 말며 섬기지 말며
Do not bow down before their gods

그들의 소위를 본받지 말고 그것들을 다 훼파하며
worship them or follow their practices.

그 주상을 타파하고
You must demolish them and
break their sacred stones to pieces.

너의 하나님 여호와를 섬기라
Worship the LORD your God,

그리하면 여호와가
너희의 양식과 물에 복을 내리고
and his blessing will be on your food and water.

너희 중에 병을 제하리니
I will take away sickness from among you,

 

네 나라에 낙태하는 자가 없고
and none will miscarry or

잉태치 못하는 자가 없을 것이라
be barren in your land.

내가 너의 날 수를 채우리라
I will give you a full life span.

내가 내 위엄을 네 앞서 보내어
I will send my terror ahead of you

너의 이를 곳의 모든 백성을 파하고
and throw into confusion
every nation you encounter.

너의 모든 원수로 너를 등지게 할 것이며
I will make all your enemies
turn their backs and run.

내가 왕벌을 네 앞에 보내리니
I will send the hornet ahead of you

그 벌이 히위 족속과 가나안 족속과 헷 족속을
네 앞에서 쫓아내리라
to drive the Hivites,
Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.

'여호와만 섬기라'
'Serve the Lord'

 

이러한 제목으로 말씀 나누겠습니다
With the title, I'll preach word of God.

 

여호와 하나님께서 모세에게 말씀하십니다
Jehovah God said to Moses

나의 사자가 네 앞서 가서
For my angel will go before you

너를 아모리 사람과 헷 사람과 브리스 사람과
and bring you into the land of the Amorites,
Hittites, Perizzites,

가나안 사람과 히위 사람과
Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites,

여부스 사람에게로 인도하고
so you may live there.

나는 그들을 끊으리니
And I will destroy them completely.

너는 그들의 신을 숭배하지 말며 섬기지 말며
You must not worship the gods of these nations
or serve them in any way,

그들의 소위를 본받지 말고
Do not imitate their evil practices.

그것들을 다 훼파하며
Instead, you must utterly destroy them

그 주상을 타파하고
and smash their sacred pillars.

너의 하나님 여호와를 섬기라
You must serve only the Lord your God.

이와 같이 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다
So God said to Moses.

 

여호와 하나님께서는
젖과 꿀이 흐르는 그 약속의 땅

가나안에서 다른 민족들을 다
God wanted Israelites to destroy other peoples,
not to worship other gods

그들의 소위를 본받지 말고
or not to imitate their evil practices.

 

그 주상을 타파할 것을 말씀하셨습니다
And to smash their sacred pillars.

 

출애굽기 23장 33절에 보면
Exodus 23:33 says

그 이유가 무엇인지를
분명하게 알 수가 있습니다
what made God think so.

 

그들이 네 땅에 머무르지 못할것은
"Do not let them live in your land,

 

그들이 너로 내게 범죄케 할까 두려움이라
or they will cause you to sin against me,

네가 그 신을 섬기면 그것이 너의 올무가 되리라
because the worship of their gods
will certainly be a snare to you."

가나안 땅에 이스라엘 백성외에
God knew if they lived in Cannan land,
they would caused Israelits to sin against God.

다른 민족이 머물게 되면
With them,

 

그 민족들로 인해
by them,

 

이스라엘 백성이 하나님께 범죄할 것을
Israelites must have committed sins against God.

 

하나님은 생각하신 겁니다
God had already known it.

그리고 가나안 땅에 있었던
God knew if Israelits served their gods,

 

이스라엘 백성들의
올무가 될 것을 생각하신 겁니다
they would be caught in the trap of idolatry.

그렇기 때문에
이스라엘 백성들이 가나안 땅에 들어가면
So God told the Israelites
when they entered the land of Canaan,

다른 민족들을 다 몰아낼 것을 말씀하셨습니다
they had to drive out all the other nations.

그리고 이스라엘 백성들이
여호와 하나님만을 섬길것을 말씀하셨습니다
God commanded the people of Israel
to serve only Jehovah God.

 

여호와 하나님만 섬기면
먹을 양식과 물에 복을 내리고
When they did like that,
they would be given followings:

그들 가운데 병을
다 제하신다고 말씀하고 계십니다
Bless with food and water,
and protected from illness.

네 나라에 낙태하는 자가 없고
No miscarriages
잉태치 못하는 자가 없을 것이라
or infertility in their land,

내가 너의 날수를 채우리라
and given long, full lives.

이와 같이 말씀하셨습니다

여호와만 섬기는 것이 너무나도 당연한 일입니다
Though It is only natural to serve Jehovah alone,

그런데 여호와만 섬기면
God said that if they only served the Lord,

거기에 따르는 복도 주신다고 말씀하셨습니다
he would give them the blessings that follow.

오늘을 살아가는 우리에게도 마찬가지입니다
The same is true for us living today.

하나님께서 여호와만 섬길 것을
God is telling us to serve only the Lord.

우리에게 말씀하고 계십니다
God is telling us to serve only the Lord.

그리고 여호와를 섬기면
And if we serve the Lord,

이스라엘 백성들에게 허락하셨던 그 복을
we can enjoy the blessings that
He gave to the people of Israel
and live our lives as well.

우리 또한 누리며 살아갈 수 있습니다
we can enjoy the blessings that
He gave to the people of Israel
and live our lives as well.

 

양식과 물에 복을 내리고

God blesses our food and water.

너희 중에 병을 제하리니
God takse away our sickness.

이와 같은 복을
우리 또한 누리며 살아갈 수 있습니다
We can enjoy such wonderful blessings.

여호와 하나님께서는 언제든지
Jehovah God always requires

백성들에게, 하나님을 믿는 사람들에게 요구하십니다
those who believe in him

여호와만 섬길 것을 요구하고 계십니다
to serve only Jehovah.

우리 또한 이와 같이
여호와만 섬기며 살아가야 할 것입니다
We must live by serving Jehovah alone.

여호와 하나님께서 싫어하시는 일들이 있습니다
We need to know the things
Jehovah God hates.

다른 신들을 숭배하는 것입니다
Worshiping other gods!

다른 신들을 숭배하는 행위가 있지요
For example,

교회를 다니고 혹
하나님을 믿는다고 하는 사람들 가운데
Some go to church and say
they believe in God,

점집을 찾아가거나
but they go to fortune tellers or

신접한 자에게 자신의
일상을 맡기는 자들이 있습니다
entrust their daily life
to a spirit medium.

레위기 20장 6절에 보면
In Leviticus 20:6

음란하듯 신접한 자와 박수를 추종하는 자에게는
I will set my face against the person
who turns to mediums and spiritists

내가 진노하여 그를 그 백성 중에서 끊으리니
to prostitute himself by following them,
and I will cut him off from his people.

이와 같이 말씀하고 있습니다

God said.

 

성경은 결코 이러한 것들을 용납하지 않습니다
The Bible never tolerates these things.

레위기 20장 7절에
In Leviticus 20:6

너희는 스스로 깨끗케 하여 거룩할찌어다
'Consecrate yourselves and be holy,

나는 너희 하나님 여호와니라
because I am the LORD your God.'

이와 같이 우리에게 말씀하고 있습니다 우리가 진정 여호와만

섬기며 살아가고 있는지를
잘 생각해야 할 것입니다
We need to make sure
that we are truly serving only the Lord.

여호와 하나님께서 싫어하시는
일을 하지 말아야 할 것입니다
We shouldn't do what Jehovah God hates.

 

그 이유는 레위기 20장 26절에
온전히 기록되고 있습니다
Leviticus 20:26 says,

너희는 내게 거룩할지어다
You must be holy

이는 나 여호와가 거룩하고
because I, the Lord, am holy.

내가 또 너희로 나의 소유를 삼으려고
I have set you apart from
all other people to be my very own.

너희를 만민 중에서 구별하였음이니라
I have set you apart from
all other people to be my very own.

이와 같이 말씀하고 계십니다

 

우리는 구별된 사람들입니다
We're set apart from evil things.

 

이스라엘 백성들이
하나님 앞에서 구별된 존재였듯이
Just as Israelites
were separated from Satan's world,

우리 또한 하나님 앞에 구별된 존재들입니다
we are also separated from it before God.

그런데 그것을 망각하고
But if we forget it

하나님께서 싫어하시는 일들을 우리가 행한다면
and do things that God hates,

이는 죄입니다
which is our sins.

하나님께서 거룩하시기에 우리도 구별되고
Because God is holy,

또한 거룩한 삶을 살아가기를
He requires us to
be separated from sin

우리에게 요구하고 계십니다
and to lead a holy life.

여호와만 섬기며 살아가시는
여러분들의 삶이 되시기를 축복합니다
I bless you all
to live your life serving only Jehovah.

거룩하신 아버지 하나님
Holy Father God,

은혜와 사랑을 감사드립니다
