또한 너희가 이 시기를 알거니와
And do this,
understanding the present time.

자다가 깰 때가 벌써 되었으니
The hour has come for you
to wake up from your slumber,

이는 이제 우리의 구원이
처음 믿을 때보다 가까왔음이니라
because our salvation is nearer
now than when we first believed.

밤이 깊고 낮이 가까왔으니
The night is nearly over;
the day is almost here.
그러므로 우리가 어두움의 일을 벗고
빛의 갑옷을 입자
So let us put aside the deeds of darkness
and put on the armor of light.

낮에와 같이 단정히 행하고
방탕과 술취하지 말며
Let us behave decently,
as in the daytime,
음란과 호색하지 말며
쟁투와 시기하지 말고
not in orgies and drunkenness,
not in sexual immorality and debauchery,
not in dissension and jealousy.

오직 주 예수 그리스도로 옷입고
Rather, clothe yourselves
with the Lord Jesus Christ,
정욕을 위하여 육신의 일을 도모하지 말라
and do not think about how to gratify
the desires of the sinful nature.
아멘 Amen

이시간 '자다가 깰 때'
Now I'll preach 'Wake up, for our salvation is nearer'

이러한 제목으로 말씀 나누겠습니다
It's today's titlte of the word.

초대교회사에서 빼놓을
수 없는 인물이 있습니다
There is an indispensable figure
in the history of the early church.

바로 어거스틴이라는 인물입니다
That's Augustine.

어거스틴은 자신의 방탕한 삶을 회개하며
Augustine repented of his prodigal life
일평생 그리스도를 위해 살기로 다짐을 했습니다
and vowed to live
for Christ the rest of his life.

그 계기가 된 말씀이 바로 오늘 본문에 있는 13절 14절 말씀입니다
The word that inspired him
is Romans 13:13&14.
낮에와 같이 단정히 행하고
We must live decent lives for all to see.

방탕하거나 술취하지 말며
Don’t participate in the darkness
of wild parties and drunkenness,

음란하거나 호색하지 말며
or in sexual promiscuity
and immoral living,

다투거나 시기하지 말고
or in quarreling and jealousy.

오직 주 예수 그리스도로 옷입고 정욕을 위하여
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,

정욕을 위하여 육신의 일을 도모하지 말라
and do not seek
the works of the flesh for lusts.

이 말씀을 계기로 하여
With these words,

어거스틴은 자신의 방탕한 삶을 청산 합니다
Augustine ends his debauchery life.
그리고 그리스도를 위해 살기로 다짐을 합니다
He decides to live for Christ.

그리고 나서 그의 삶은 주님을 위해
And he commits to live for Christ.
살게 되었습니다
And he commits to live for Christ.
그리고 수많은 사람들에게
And he had a huge impact
on so many people.
큰 영향을 끼치는 자가 되었습니다

사도 바울은 오늘 말씀을 통해
The Apostle Paul declares
the time has come to awake from sleep.
자다가 깰 때가 되었다고 선포하고 있습니다

그리고 오늘 본문 12절에서 보면 밤이 깊고
Romans 13:12 says,
낮이 가까왔다 라고 말씀하고 있습니다
' the day of salvation will soon be here.

자다가 깰 때 밤이 깊고 낮이
Now is the time
to wake up from sleep,

가까운 때가 바로 지금일것입니다
The time the night is nearly over is now.

자다가 깰 때 밤이 깊고
The time to wake
from your slumber.

낮이 가까울 때
The night is nearly over;
the day is almost here.

우리가 해야 할 행동
At that time, how should we live?

우리가 삶으로 옮겨야할 행동이 무엇일까요
At that time, how should we live?

 

첫째, 우리가 어둠의 일을 벗는 겁니다
First, it's for us to put aside the deeds of darkness

 

그리고 두 번째, 빛의 갑옷을 입어야 합니다
and put on the armor of light.

우리가 어둠의 일을 벗어야 하는데
How can we put aside the deeds of darkness?

 

오늘 그것을 잘 언급하고 있습니다
Here is the answer.

 

사도 바울이 선포하고 있습니다
Apostle Paul declares,

방탕과 술 취하지 말며
'Do not live intemperately or get drunk.
음란과 호색 하지 말며
Give up your lewd life and
쟁투와 시기 하지 말고
do not argue or be jealous of others.'

그리고 오늘 본문 14절에 보면
Romans 13:14 says:
이러한 일들을 육신의 일이라 말씀하고 있습니다
The things are of the flesh.

 

육신의 일을 도모하지 말아야 할 것입니다
You should not try to do things
that are of the world.
어둠의 일을 벗고
We must take off the veil of darkness
and put on the armor of light.

 

빛의 갑옷을 입도록 해야 합니다
We must take off the veil of darkness

이 옷이란 어떤 옷일까요
What kind of clothes does
the clothes of light symbolize?

바로 예수 그리스도로
옷 입는 것을 말하는 겁니다
That's what it means
to be clothed with Jesus Christ.

우리가 빛의 갑옷을 생각하면
Regarding the armor of light,
에베소서 6장에
Ephesians 6 says;
나와 있는 전신갑주를 떠올릴 수 있을 겁니다
You may recall the full of armor.

예수 그리스도로 옷 입는 것
Dressing as Jesus Christ.

그리고 전신 갑주를 입는 것
And putting on the full armor of God.

 

그것은 같은 의미입니다
It means the same.
전신 갑주는 흔히 말해서 갑옷입니다
Full body armor is commonly
referred to as an armor.

갑옷은 보통 방어용이죠
Armor is usually for defense.
성도들은 진리의 말씀과
Saints must protect themselves
의로움과 믿음의 방패를 가지고
from evil spirits with the word of truth
악한 영으로부터 자신을
보호하며 살아 가야만합니다
and the shield of
righteousness and faith.

지금은 말세지말이라고
We are living in this age
called the end of the world.

흔히들 이야기하는 종말의 시대를
We are living in this age
called the end of the world.
우리가 살아가고 있습니다
We are living in this age
called the end of the world.

 

또한 이 때를 성경이 말씀하고 있는 것처럼
Also, as the Bible says,
밤이 깊고 낮이 가까워 오는 때입니다
this is the time when the night is
nearly over and the day is nearer.

 

밤이 깊으면 깊을수록 그것은
The thicker the night,
낮이 가까웠음을 의미합니다
the closer the day is.
주님이 다시 오실 날이 멀지 않았습니다
The day of the Lord's Second Coming
is not far away.

 

 우리가 그 때 취해야 할 행동은
Then we must put on the armor of light.
빛의 갑옷을 입는 것입니다
Then we must put on the armor of light.

예수 그리스도로 옷을 입는 것입니다
It is to be clothed with Jesus Christ.

그리고 우리에게 꼭 필요한 일은
We must not seek the sins
of the flesh for our lusts.

 

우리의 정욕을 위해

육신의 죄를 도모하지 않는 그런 삶입니다

낮에는 모든 것이 드러나기 때문입니다
Because during the day
everything is revealed.
오늘 본문에도 말씀하고 있죠
The Bible warns us:
'낮에와 같이 단정히 행하라'고
'we must live decent lives for all to see.'

왜 그렇죠?
Why?

낮에는 모든 것이 잘 드러납니다
During the day everything is well visible.

밤에는 헤아리기 어려운 일들이
낮에는 잘 드러나기 때문입니다
Things that are easy to hide at night
are revealed during the day.

여러분, 우리가 자다가 깰 때가 벌써 되었습니다
Brothers and sisters,
the time has come for us to wake up.

그리고 밤이 깊고
The night of sin is far spent.

낮이 가까운 때입니다
Soon it will be day
for the Lord who is light is coming soon.

우리는 어둠의 일을 벗어 버려야만 합니다
We must cast off
the works of darkness.

우리 정욕을 위해
For our lust
육신의 일을 도모하지 말아야만 합니다
we must not pursue
the works of the flesh.

빛의 갑옷을 입고
We must live
in the light of Jesus Christ.

예수로 옷 입고
We must live
in the light of Jesus Christ.

우리가 살아가야만 할 것입니다
We must live
in the light of Jesus Christ.

주님 오실 날이 점점 가까이 다가오고 있습니다
The day of the Lord's coming
is drawing nearer.

우리가 그 시기를 알지 못하기에
Since we do not know the time,
더 기도하며 깨어 있어야만 합니다
we must pray more and stay awake.

오늘 하루도 우리가 기도로 우리 자신을 깨우고
Let's wake ourselves up in prayer.
또한 우리 삶을 잘 돌아 보는
Let's take good care of our life.
귀한 하루가 되시기를 축복합니다
I bless your day to be
precious in Jesus.

주님 오신 날이 멀지 않았기 때문입니다
The day of the Lord's coming
is not far away.

우리가 준비된 모습으로
Let's prepare for the day
of the Lord's coming.
이 하루를 잘 살아가도록 최선을 다합시다
Let's do our best today
and live in the Lord.
